Buddha’s Birthday in the Park!

It was Buddha’s Birthday so it was a day off for everyone in Korea. Okay, not everyone, restaurant and convenience store workers still had to work. So, your mother wasn’t able to spend the day with us. I usually like to stay home on holidays because there are just too many people in public place. But because Sudona, you were going to school daily and I am not able to really play with you girls on weekends I decided that we had better go out and do something. We decided we would go to World Cup Stadium Park and my friend and his kids would meet us there and we would all play together.

I made sandwiches and we picked up a watermelon on our way. Also, on our way we stopped and picked up my friend’s son. The four of us made it to the park and it was packed just like I expected. Of course, that didn’t bother you kids in the least. I found a place along the edge of the creek that runs through the park and put out all of our stuff. It wasn’t really a good spot due to it sloping a bit. But it was the only place we could find and I thought we would just do with deal with it. As I was spreading our mats out for us to sit on the watermelon broke loose and rilled down the hill and into the creek. Luckily it only dented the watermelon but it was quite embarrassing.  You girls and your friend started playing in the creek. Then a group of men made there way down the creek with brooms sweeping it to clean it. I thought that was the strangest thing but I have to admit that it made the water and creek much cleaner. After that you guys started playing in the creek again and your friend slipped and got totally wet. So, the had to call his father and ask him to bring a set of clean clothes for you to change into when he showed up. I decided that it wasn’t the best place for all of us to play so I packed our stuff up and we headed over to a large field and planted ourselves on the edge of it. We ate our food, played with the toys I had brought and laughed and played around.

Here is the video of the guys sweeping the creek.

Pictures of our fun time.

Oh, this picture just reminded me. It was so funny when you would throw the ball Avya. You wanted to throw it far and you would get quite frustrated that you couldn’t throw it all that far. He resorted to winging your arm around like a windmill before you threw the ball. It didn’t really help you throw it any further but I guess it made you feel better. I thought it was so cute and funny but also have to admit that it got a little annoying because you would wing your arm around for so long and everyone had to wait for you.
